Cardano (ADA), launched in 2017 by Ethereum co-founder Charles Hoskinson, is a third-generation blockchain and cryptocurrency platform designed for scalability, security, and sustainability, addressing issues faced by earlier blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum through a research-first approach with academic peer review and formal methods.
